FYI...Shawnee Local Schools added three early dismissal days this year where Shawnee Middle School students will be released early (around 1 PM). The dates are right before breaks. They are Tuesday, November 22, 2022, Wednesday, December 21, 2022 and Wednesday, April 5, 2023. Also, Spring Recess for 2023 is Thursday, April 6th, Friday, April 7th and Monday, April 10th.
SMS Families: Fees have been posted! Go to https://payschoolscentral.com/ and pay school fees, add lunch money, and fill out Free/Reduced App (if applicable) all before schedule pick up to make it a breeze. Click “REGISTER” and follow the prompts. Note: any remaining lunch money on your student’s account will have been transferred from EZ PAY to PAY SCHOOL CENTRAL.

Good News...
The permanent sub position at Shawnee Middle School has been filled.
However, we are now looking for a paraprofessional to work with teachers and seventh and eighth grade students. Pay is based on experience and begins at $13.17 an hour for a seven hour day. If you are interested go online to limashawnee.com under "District" click "Human Resources and Treasurer" for a non-teaching application. Fill out the application and send it to Amber Straub (Amber@limashawnee.com). This position will be posted until filled. If interested get information filled out and sent in ASAP.

SMS Families: There are still some middle yearbooks available. Bring $35 cash or check made out to Shawnee Middle School to the cafeteria before school if you would like a yearbook. First come first served.
5th grade D.A.R.E. graduation will begin at 1 PM on Wednesday, June 1st in the Hugh Downs Auditorium (at the high school). All students should wear their D.A.R.E. t-shirts. Parents are welcome to attend.

Around 1:30 PM, the Shawnee Middle School Administration dealt with an upset parent with the help of our School Resource Officer. The parent was outside the building and used many profane words. Students may have heard this. At no point did the parent enter the building and students were not at-risk. We will use our normal dismissal procedures.
