Day number four of our district-wide Red Ribbon Week was “put a lid on drugs”. Students were allowed to wear hats and they were asked to bring in canned food for the West Ohio Food Bank. Our students donated over 1,300 canned food items between the four buildings. When weighed at the food bank, it totaled 1,348 pounds of food! Pictured is staff from the West Ohio Food Bank with our Mental Health Coordinator Leigh Kempton. High School Principal Dylan Dronberger helped Mrs. Kempton with loading up and taking the food. Thanks to the generosity of our students and families, two vehicles were needed to transport the donations. We would like to say a huge thank you to our Shawnee families! This was a true testament to the amazing students and families we have in our district.

"October is Bullying Prevention Month. Wednesday, October 18th (tomorrow) is Unity Day. SMS students and staff please wear orange on Unity Day to support bullying prevention and promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Clothing must still follow the dress code."
