Shawnee High School's Student of the Month Winners were celebrated at a luncheon last week with delicious meals from Texas Roadhouse and beautiful cookies from Morris Girls Cookies. These students continue to set a good example for their peers and we couldn't be more proud!

It is an honor to be recognized again by the National Association of Student Councils by earning the National Gold Council of Excellence award. Our high school student government are one of only two student governments in the state of Ohio to receive this honor! There are 22 initial requirements to earn the National Council of Excellence award. To earn the Gold, we had to meet at least 26 additional evidence indicators. These indicators include volunteering in and out of school, putting together our school dances, and school activities such as MayDaze. Thank you Mr. Miller, Ms. Griffo, and all of our student government members for your hard work and dedication. We are appreciate you and we are proud of you! Go Tribe!

Daniel Koh placed 2nd in the Lima Rotary Club 4-Way Test Speech Contest. Daniel's speech focused on spreading kindness and having a positive mindset. Congratulations!

SHS Reminder: Tomorrow, 5/9/24 is our School Wide Connections Day with our elementary Pen Pals. Students will be given t-shirts to put on over or change into before going outside. Because of the number of people involved, we plan to go on with the activity rain or shine. If the weather looks rainy, plan accordingly and bring extra shoes to change into after. The schedule shared in Connections will be followed, which is altered from our normal Thursday schedule. It is posted for students in their grade level Google Classroom. We're looking forward to a fun, district wide event!
