Every year, the Lima Exchange Club presents the A.C.E. Award. The A.C.E . Award stands for Accepting the Challenge of Excellence and it recognizes high school seniors who have demonstrated hard work, perseverance, and ability to jump life’s hurdles as they work towards graduation. We are so proud of the person he has become. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact he will have on this world. Students are nominated by any staff member who recognizes a student demonstrating good character and performing one or more of our Indian Expectations: taking ownership, taking initiative, being resilient, and advocating. REMINDER SHS Families: TOMORROW, Tuesday, March 12th, is the ACT day for Juniors. Freshman, Sophomores, and Seniors will not report to school. Transportation will run as normal. Breakfast and lunch will not be served. Juniors need to bring, number 2 pencils, a calculator, and a snack & drink. Do not bring any electronic devices or leave them in your locker. Electronic devices are not allowed in testing rooms and may not be accessed at any point until students are dismissed at the end of testing. You will not be able to access your locker at any time once testing begins, so take your snack, drink, and supplies with you first thing in the morning. You must be in your testing room by 7:35 am.
Attention SHS Families:
Tuesday, March 12th, is the ACT day. Please plan accordingly.
The only students who will report to school are the Junior class.

For Random Acts of Kindness Week, our high school Gatekeepers group hosted a breakfast for staff and students that included free pancakes and hot chocolate.
We are proud to announce that senior Andrew McKenzie has been named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. In the fall, Andrew was named a National Merit semi-finalist and had the opportunity to advance to the finalist standing in the competition. National Merit Scholarship finalists are determined by the grades he has earned, rigor of curriculum, PSAT/NMSQT scores, an essay, leadership roles, and contributions to the school and community. Andrew is representing less than one percent of graduating seniors in the United States. This is an incredible accomplishment! We would like to take a moment to recognize the school counselors who work so hard to help our students succeed. National School Counseling Week is the perfect time to acknowledge all of the work that these counselors put into our school district. This year's American School Counselor Association theme is "Standards-Based, Student Focused" and it's the perfect description of the mindset that our counselors carry each day.
Thank you to our school counselors: Mrs. Rex, Mrs. Bidlack, Ms. Wood, Mrs. Schmiedebusch, Mr. Christoff, Mrs. Melson, as well as our Student and Family Support Coordinator Stephanie Kiefer. Please take the time this week to thank your school counselor for all that they do!
Shawnee High School - Today, during Connections, students watched a scheduling video that pertains to their grade level and reviewed the Course of Studies for next school year. Students also received a copy of their transcript, a Course Request Form (front page) and a four year planning grid (back page). Students will bring the Course Request Form with a parent signature to Connections on February 6th, and also enter course requests online at that time.
