Congratulations to 8th grader, Ope Balogun, on her first place finish at the Lima News Regional Spelling Bee last night! She spelled "thwartwise" correctly to become the champion for the second year in a row. Ope will again be competing in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington DC at the end of May. Way to go, Ope!

We would like to take a moment to recognize the school counselors who work so hard to help our students succeed. National School Counseling Week is the perfect time to acknowledge all of the work that these counselors put into our school district. This year's American School Counselor Association theme is "Standards-Based, Student Focused" and it's the perfect description of the mindset that our counselors carry each day. Thank you to our school counselors: Mrs. Rex, Mrs. Bidlack, Ms. Wood, Mrs. Schmiedebusch, Mr. Christoff, Mrs. Melson, as well as our Student and Family Support Coordinator Stephanie Kiefer. Please take the time this week to thank your school counselor for all that they do!
