Middle and High School students will dismiss at 12:53 pm. High school students with late arrival need to check the high school webpage for their arrival time.
Elmwood and Maplewood will dismiss at 2 pm.
Starting Monday, August 26, 2024, attendance alerts (unexcused absence) will be sent to parents/guardians through email and text messaging.
Dental and Vision Examinations will be available through Health Partners Mobile Units as follows.
Return Permission forms for Dental and/or Vision as soon as September 12 but may be turned in up until event.

In addition to displaying your student’s transportation information, Stopfinder features a private messaging feature that will allow you to communicate directly with the SHAWNEE Transportation Department. You can also create GeoAlerts for your student, which will notify you when the bus has arrived in or departed from any location on your student’s route, including their assigned bus stop and school. GeoAlert Alert Zones can be created for individual students allowing you to customize the Alert Zone based on their bus route.The email address that is currently on file with the district, the address used for this communication, will be used for Stopfinder setup. Please verify you have the information in Final Forms. Stopfinder can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play. Stopfinder will require an invite and registration through the district prior to accessing your student’s transportation schedule. The departure meeting for the DC trip is fast approaching! If you are traveling, you are expected to attend this important meeting.
Students traveling to Washington, DC will have a meeting on Thurs., April 4th from 2:15-2:30 pm in the Middle School 7/8 Cafeteria. Students will receive rooming forms, behavior contracts and emergency medical forms.
Shawnee Schools will dismiss early on Wednesday, March 27th for Spring break. High School and Middle School will release at 12:55 pm. Maplewood and Elmwood will release at 2 pm. School resumes Tuesday, April 2nd.

Congratulations to 8th grader, Ope Balogun, on her first place finish at the Lima News Regional Spelling Bee last night! She spelled "thwartwise" correctly to become the champion for the second year in a row. Ope will again be competing in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington DC at the end of May. Way to go, Ope!
There is a scheduled 2-hour delay for students WEDNESDAY, March 6, 2024 for teacher in-service.
This Friday, Shawnee boys basketball will be playing their first OHSAA tournament game at home against Celina. Because this is an OHSAA tournament game, there is no reserved seating. Season ticket holders may sit in their seats, but seating is on a first come first serve basis and seats will not be saved. Tickets may be purchased on the OHSAA website https://www.ohsaa.org/tickets starting Wednesday. Doors will open on Friday at 6:00 with the game starting at 7:00. Go Tribe!

We would like to take a moment to recognize the school counselors who work so hard to help our students succeed. National School Counseling Week is the perfect time to acknowledge all of the work that these counselors put into our school district. This year's American School Counselor Association theme is "Standards-Based, Student Focused" and it's the perfect description of the mindset that our counselors carry each day.
Thank you to our school counselors: Mrs. Rex, Mrs. Bidlack, Ms. Wood, Mrs. Schmiedebusch, Mr. Christoff, Mrs. Melson, as well as our Student and Family Support Coordinator Stephanie Kiefer. Please take the time this week to thank your school counselor for all that they do!
