Shawnee Schools will dismiss early on Tuesday, November 26th for Thanksgiving break. High School and Middle School will release at 12:55 pm. Maplewood and Elmwood will release at 2 pm. School resumes Monday, December 2nd.

Shawnee Drama proudly presents "Little House of Horrors" November 22 & 23 at 7 pm and November 24 at 3 pm. Ticket are $10 and are on sale now in the Shawnee HS East Office (door N-1) or they can be purchased at the door.
Shawnee Middle School’s 6th graders spent 3 days at Camp Crosley last week, continuing the tradition of outdoor education, team building and learning new things about themselves and their classmates! A big thanks goes out to the parent chaperones for helping to make this experience possible for our students.

By order of Shawnee Township Fire Chief Miller, there is NO DANGER TO THE SCHOOLS. This evacuation order was done by the school out of an abundance of caution. This evacuation/shelter-in-place was not ordered by the Fire Chief.
Out if an abundance of caution, due to a benzene gas leak at the Lima refinery, Shawnee Schools will be dismissing students as soon as possible. Students will be dismissed on their normal afternoon bus routes. Elmwood and Maplewood students will be taken to Maplewood. Updates will be sent as soon as more information is available. This is currently not a danger to the community.
Boys soccer is state semifinal bound! The location of the game has been moved to Skyhawk Stadium in Fairborn. Tickets for the game are available at ohsaa.org/tickets.

Our Volleyball team earned a spot in the Regional Semi-Final! Their match will be played at 8 pm on Thursday, October 31 at Norwalk High School, 350 Shady Lane Dr., Norwalk.

October is Bullying Prevention Month. On Wednesday, October 16th, Shawnee Local Schools will be observing Unity Day as a district. Students and staff are invited to wear orange to support kindness, acceptance and inclusion. All clothing must be school appropriate!
