SMS is hosting Monster Mash - a costume dance for 5th and 6th graders. The dance is for Shawnee Middle School 5th and 6th graders only. Admission is $5. The dance is Wednesday, October 20th from 6:30 - 8:00 PM in the 7th and 8th grade cafeteria. All students will enter through the back cafeteria doors at SMS. At the conclusion of the dance, fifth grade student pick-up will be in the front of the building while sixth grade pick-up will be in the back of the building. This is a school event so please no masks or violent costumes.
Kindness Locker Update:
Thank you to all who have donated food items, school supplies or personal care items to the SMS Kindness Lockers. We have distributed over 100 personal care items, over 70 school supplies and over 250 snacks. We are accepting donations to replenish our snack and cup/water/juice supplies. We have baggies where we can separate larger containers of items. Single serve items are appreciated as well. To donate items can be dropped off at the main office and labeled for the Kindness Locker. Email Mrs. Adlesh at adleshk@limashawnee.com if you have any questions. Thank you!

Next week, SMS will have a "Spirit" Week for Bullying Prevention Week. Please support those who want to rid the world of bullying by dressing up for the week. Here are the themes for the week:
*Mon 10/18: Put a lid on bullying (Hat Day)*
*Tues 10/19: Keep the peace day (Tie Dye Day)*
*Wed 10/20: Unity day (wear orange)*
*Thurs 10/21: Put bullying to rest (Pajama Day)*
*Friday 10/22: Team up against bullying (wear favorite team apparel)*
