SHAWNEE HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thursday, April 16, 2026

All students interested in Apollo are invited to Apollopalooza this evening from 5:30-7pm. There will be drawings for prizes (including a trip to Gatlinburg, concert and Reds tickets, Beats headphones and more) as well as food trucks, games and hands-on activities in the labs. It is a great way to explore options, get questions answered and get to know lab instructors that you may have if you're planning to attend.

Anyone interested in playing high school football next year needs to attend the meeting after school today in Room 151.

This week is Purple Star Week, where school districts across the state of Ohio will be honoring Ohio's Military families and children. Please help us say "thank you" to all of our military families by dressing up throughout the week. Tomorrow is R.E.D. Friday - everyone should wear red to "Remember Everyone Deployed". Help us honor and celebrate those who do so much for our community and country!

MayDaze shirts are on sale now! The class that purchases the most shirts will win Maydaze points, so don't miss out! You can find the link on your class google classroom. The window to order closes this Sunday at midnight.

Any senior wanting to try out for a spot on the Graduation program must see Mr. Owen to pick up the guidelines for trying out. The deadline for turning in material is 2:45pm on Friday, May 1st.

Prom guest forms are now available in the East Office. Forms must be signed and returned to Mrs. Rigali no later than April 24th.

Maya Angelou said "It takes courage to be kind."  Shawnee students find your courage! We have logged 203 acts of kindness so far. The goal is at least 600 to beat LCC.  If every student in our building logs just one act of kindness we'll be very close to that. Be kind and log that kindness either on your paper or in Google classroom. The challenge is over Tuesday. Remember, the Connections group with the most logged acts of kindness earns donuts!

Academic Excellence Awards may be picked up today for any students that were not able to attend the ceremony last night. Please stop by the West Office to pick up your award. No passes will be issued in order to pick up your awards.
