Healthy Kids Running Series (HKRS) is back again this spring to get our community up and active after a long cold winter! HKRS is a national non-profit youth running program designed to engage kids ages 2-14 (8th grade) to build confidence, get active, and teach the importance of a healthy lifestyle as they continue to grow.
HKRS runs every Sunday at Faurot Park, starting April 12th and ending on May 19th (skipping Mother's Day this year). The kids start with pre-race stretching @ 2:55pm, and then races begin at 3pm starting with the 2-3 year old pre-K race, and moving up each division until we end with the 1 mile run for 4th-8th grade.
Week to week kids earn points for awards and medals on race day 5, where we celebrate their amazing achievements! Each week is an hour of exercise, music, snacks, raffle giveaways, theme weeks, and so much more! We are so grateful to all of our community partners that support this program so we can provide so much fun for these kids!
New this season: We will have Buddy day, where any full season registered child, may bring a friend on the first race day (April 12th), to try the series for free! More information on this can be found on our Facebook page: Healthy Kids Running Series - Lima, OH.

Elmwood has some quack-tastic news from the science lab! 🐣
After 28 days of patient waiting, monitoring humidity levels, and obsessive egg-turning, our new classmates have finally arrived.
There is nothing quite like the "miracle of life" to bring a science lesson to life. 🧬 But this project taught us so much more than just life cycles—it was a lesson in patience, responsibility, and the delicate balance of nature!

Congratulations to Elmwood's Indians of the Month for November! These students serve as positive role models for their classmates and help create a caring and respectful school community. For November our focus word was “Advocate.” Teachers were looking for students who advocated for themselves and their class. creating a positive environment in all of Elmwood.
