SHAWNEE HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tuesday, March 12, 2024

The Blood Drive on March 20th is now open to all Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, and staff members. We need your help to make this blood drive a success! Flyers are posted around the building with the QR code for sign-up. A signed parental consent form is required for any donor under the age of 17. Forms are available in the East office. Photo ID is required on the day of donation.

Attention students: The time is now to vote for your grade level's MayDaze t-shirt. Voting is open from today until 3pm Thursday. Remember, you are picking the shirt which will be made available for purchase. This shirt will also be put up in a competition for MayDaze points against the other grade-level winners. If your shirt is chosen, this is just a reminder that you will be getting your shirt for free and you will get a $10 Good Foods gift card.

The Yearbook Group Photo Day will be this Thursday. Please see the post in the grade level Google Classrooms for the times the photographs will be taken. No announcements will be made so make sure you are in the gym promptly at the times given.

The Athletic Boosters are holding a Shoe Drive to help distribute new and gently used shoes to low income countries. If you have any new or gently used shoes that you would like to donate, please bring them to the West office. We will be collecting shoes until Friday.

State testing for all students will be in April. More information will be shared with students over the next few weeks.

Students interested in College Credit Plus (CCP) courses either here on Shawnee's campus, online, or on the collegiate campus must have the Intent to Participate form completed and turned in by April 2. This form is needed every year, so even if you have taken CCP this year or in previous years, if you want to take a course this summer (2024), or next school year (Fall 2024 or Spring 2025), you must turn in a form this year. The form is on our guidance website and also in Google Classroom.  Please stop by Guidance if you have questions.

March is “Music in Our Schools” month. Test your knowledge of the music world every day with a trivia question. Here’s today’s question: What 1969 music festival was seen as an opportunity for people to escape into music and spread a message of unity and peace? Listen on Wednesday for the answer and a new question!
