Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

For the past two years, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has offered waivers to Child Nutrition (CN) Programs across the United States, allowing these programs to offer all students breakfast and lunch, at no charge.  These waivers expired on June 3, 2022.

What does this mean for our students?

This school year, 2022-23, CN programs across the nation will return to normal, pre-pandemic operations.  Families will once again be asked to complete and submit a current school year Free/Reduced Meal Application to see if their students qualify based on income.  The previous year’s status carries over to the first 30 days of the new school year.

1. The 2022-23 meal application is now available.  Completing this will cover the student for the entire 2022-23 school year and no other steps will be necessary, unless there is an income change during the school year.

 2. The application can be found online at or by visiting and clicking on the “Payonline” tab.  This will direct you to the Payschools Central link.  Once you access PaySchools, create an account and complete the Free & Reduced Application from a computer or a smartphone.

The 2022-23 breakfast and lunch prices are as follows:

Elmwood & Maplewood Lunch $3.00

Middle School Lunch $3.25

High School Lunch $3.50

Breakfast $1.75 (or items can be purchased ala carte)

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
