With recent changes in state law and conversion from days to hours by the Ohio Department of Education, school districts are permitted to delay the start of school by three hours WITHOUT extending the day and dismissing at normal times. At Shawnee, we will look to use this “three hour delay with no extended day” going forward for this school year. Three hour delay schedules are built that shorten class periods but maintain thirty minutes for lunch for staff and students. If the three hour delay is used, the start of school will simply be delayed by three hours with no alteration or change to our dismissal times. Please plan accordingly. Hopefully we will not have to use this option too often. Thank you for your consideration. Mike Lamb
